Our Vineyards

Great wine really does start in the vineyard. Riverace Viticulture, which oversees all of the vineyards, provides a unique viticultural service. Its leadership team has over 115 years of grape-growing experience in the Margaret River region. This extensive depth of knowledge ensures that each and every block of vines is managed and tended to so that its full potential is realised.

Our Vineyards

Brushwood Brook - King of Cabernet

Brushwood is located on Commonage Road in the Yallingup sub-region. It has a notable track record for producing award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard is situated on a gentle north-facing slope, overlooking Geographe Bay, and the soils are ideal for producing high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are closely planted with a selection of the “Houghton” clone. This site has been a consistent producer of very high-quality, elegant Margaret River wines for more than 20 years and is home to our John George Cabernet.

Gibindee -The Cool Summer

Gibindee is located south of the Carbunup townsite on the eastern side of Bussel Highway in the Carbunup sub-region. The property is reasonably flat, with gravelly loam soils, making it suitable for growing Chardonnay, Cabernet, Tempranillo, Vermentino, Alicante Bouschet, and Sauvignon Blanc. Fruit from this vineyard makes a significant contribution to our 5 Moons and Vintners Edge ranges. As an early ripening site, the vineyard is very important to us during cooler summers and the early arrival of winter fronts, as southern vineyard sites can become a real challenge.

Ridge Farm - Heart of Wilyabrup

Ridge Farm, located in Wilyabrup in the heart of the Margaret River region, has a notable track record for producing high-quality Cabernet, Shiraz, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. Our vineyard is situated on a gentle north-facing slope, protected by native forests on the southern side and benefiting from the cooling sea breeze coming in from the southwest. Fruit from Ridge Farm is used in our Butler Crest Estate range of wines, and the Semillon is an important component in the Vintners Edge SSB and the Night Harvest Five Moons SBS.

Little is located to the northeast of Cowaramup in the upper catchment of the Carbunup River valley. The vineyard has a lovely northern aspect, with gravelly loam soils, making it suitable for growing Chardonnay and Merlot. The vineyard features a north-south row orientation, and being in the central part of the Margaret River region, the site provides great options as the seasons vary. The Merlot is used in the Vintners Edge Cabernet Merlot.

Rainbow Fountain - Southern Gem

Rainbow is located southeast of Karridale, no more than about 10 km from the Southern Ocean in the Karridale sub-region, which makes it a truly cool climate site. The vineyard has a predominant northern aspect. The microclimate on this property is perfect for growing high-quality Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Semillon, with many award-winning aromatic whites originating from this site. Fruit from here is used in all of our ranges, as it provides an intensity that cannot be matched by our northern vineyards.

Wylco - Chardonnay Heaven

Wylco is located southeast of Witchcliffe in Forest Grove, which is part of the Karridale sub-region. The vineyard is laid out over a series of hills with two small valleys that drain into the Chapman Brook. The microclimate on this property is perfect for growing high-quality Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Over time, the property has been the source of many award-winning wines for various brands. It is proving to be the go-to sub-region for many winemakers in their pursuit of excellence, particularly for Margaret River Chardonnays. Fruit from this vineyard is used in the Cape Domaine and Five Moons ranges of wines.
