Five Moons

Vibrant, Distinctive, Sophisticated

Five Moons Range — the story of my life.

The name Five Moons reflects the passing of five lunar cycles — the slow transformation of grapes from flowering through ripening to harvest. Over nearly five months, the vineyard is watched with precision and patience as the fruit develops.

At the centre is viticulturist and managing owner Andy Ferreira. With hands-on involvement across the vineyards and access to first-hand knowledge of each growing season, this ongoing connection provides rare insight into fruit development, seasonal variation, and harvest timing — enabling the selection of exceptional parcels at their peak.

Night Harvest is not just a name — it is a big reason why these wines reflect the area they come from. Grapes are picked in the cool of night, when low temperatures preserve freshness, purity, and aromatics.

But night harvesting is no quiet affair. For ten intense weeks each vintage, harvesters, machines, and winery crews work through the darkness at full pace. It is a logistical endeavour of immense scale, demanding endurance, precision, and commitment from everyone involved.

“Harvesting has always been an important part of my life — it is what enabled me to build my business. Ten weeks of intensity that is hard to match. The tiredness is hard to comprehend. This brand is dedicated to my harvesting team.”

— Andy Ferreira

Reviews

Smooth, flavoursome, and intense, with a perfumed lift of spicy red notes, a violet-like perfume, and subtle cherry. The palate is medium weight with good structure, chalky fine tannins, and just enough oak to bring balance. (Night Harvest Five Moons Shiraz 2023)

90 Points, Ray Jordan

Flint and mineral notes. some good varietal lift and lemon lime. Crisp palate. Clean fruit. Succulent and refreshing acidity line through out. Great fresh style. Really good drink. Some early weight that falls away. Some question about the balance of the wine. (Five Moons Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2024)

Silver, Cairns Wine Show 25

Great colour. Lovely bright wine. Some red current lift. Broody nose. fruit texture. palate weight. big rich sweet fruited style. juicy full wine. fine tannins. wine lingers. (Five Moons Cabernet Sauvignon 2023)

A captivating bouquet of ripe strawberries, marshmallow and sweet spice leads to a rich palate of juicy red cherries and lingering dark chocolate. (Five Moons Shiraz 2023)

Points 91, IWSC 2025

Fresh and juicy, clean and bright, as is the usual way with this blend. Expect tropical fruit of a lemon-lime and passionfruit persuasion with plenty of fresh herbs and zesty acidity" (Published 07 April 2025) (Five Moons Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2024)
