100% Sauvignon Blanc
Region: Margaret River
Tasting Notes: Pale straw in colour with a hint of green, it’s a crisp and light bodied wine, yet with backbone. Aromas of fresh tropical fruit, peach and lemon shine through. The palate is crisp, concentrated lemon and lime with a refreshingly crunchy green apple acidity providing balance and length. Damon Eastaugh
Terroir: The fruit in the wine comes from our Allan Rock vineyard in the Wilyabrup sub region. The vines are planted at a density of 1667 vines per ha with a north-south orientation. The soil in the vineyard is what underpins the vines’ ability to produce excellence. It has a deep soil of consistent gravelly loam soils on a slope with an eastern aspect. The clone is the Houghton selection.
Halliday Wine Companion, 90 Points: While there are plenty of tropical fruit flavours, it’s a more restrained style in a way, with citrus to the fore. Refreshing with lemon and limes, an undercurrent of gooseberries, passionfruit pith and fresh herbs with a backbone of juicy acidity.
Vino Masters Score 92 Points: Crisp, aromatic and refreshing. Bright pale straw with green highlights. The nose is aromatic, showing passionfruit, lime and citrus blossom, layered with fresh herbs. The palate is crisp and energetic, delivering lively fruit intensity - citrus, limes and tropical fruits - balanced by zesty acidity and excellent precision. The style is vibrant with clarity and focus throughout. The finish is long, mouth-watering and refreshing. A classic Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc with freshness and finesse.
Wine Orbit 93 points: It's fabulously expressed on the nose, showing green rockmelon, apricot, lemon zest, and herbaceous aromas. It's intensely flavoursome in the mouth with fine texture and lively acidity, making it vibrant and lingering. At its best: now to 2029.
