Butler Crest

Hand-Crafted Boutique Wines from the Heartland of Margaret River’s Wilyabrup, Ridge Farm.

Structured, Single-Vineyard, Timeless

Nestled in the heart of Western Australia’s renowned Margaret River wine region, the Ridge Farm vineyard lies within the Butler Crest Estate in the prestigious Wilyabrup subregion. Wilyabrup is renowned for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay—varietals proudly showcased in this range.

Since 2005, we have crafted elegant, expressive wines from this vineyard, consistently delivering quality year after year. These are true single-vineyard wines, crafted exclusively from fruit grown on the estate, with no blending from outside vineyards.

The Butler Crest name is inspired by the historic role of the "le Botiler" or wine bearer. In 1066, Herveius Walter accompanied William the Conqueror to England, serving as his trusted royal wine bearer. This tradition of stewardship, craftsmanship, and respect for wine continues to inspire every bottle of Butler Crest

Reviews

This is immediately appealing on the nose, showing dark berry, vanilla, mixed spice and cedary oak characters. The generously expressed palate displays plump mouthfeel and rich texture, wonderfully framed by finely infused tannins. Beautifully proportioned and harmonious, making it fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2036 (Butler Crest Shiraz 2021)

93 Points - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

Nice white peach with a flinty nose. Fruit carries through to the nose and drives along the palate. A very good example of complexity and persistence. A cracker (Butler Crest Chardonnay 2024)

95 Points, Cairns Wine Show 25

Lemon and cream nose. Good phenolic drive but balanced by some lees work. Fruit powerful (Butler Crest Sauvignon Blanc 2024)

95 Points, Gold Royal Adelaide Wine Show 25

Lovely colour, red fruit Simple and refreshingly cabernet. (Butler Crest Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 )

95 Points, Top Gold - 2025 WA Boutique and Single Vineyard Wineshow

Fragrant aromas of white peach, lemon pith, and brioche. The palate is racy, with melon, citrus, and a faint grapefruit edge, supported by a touch of creaminess. (Butler Crest Margaret River chardonnay 2024)
