Margaret River

Best Blocks

Curated, Distinct, Aged

In the heart of the Margaret River wine region, where the land meets the sea and soils and climates vary, there are small pockets of vineyards that consistently produce outstanding fruit. The Best Blocks range showcases this fruit, emphasing quality and careful curation.

Comprising four exceptional varietals — Chardonnay, Merlot, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon— the range remains deliberately small. By focusing on these wines, we ensure each receives the attention and craftsmanship it deserves.

Our commitment to excellence continues in the winery. Each wine is carefully aged in French oak barrels — often newer barrels than those typically used — creating a distinctive style. The result is a true taste of Margaret River at its very best.

Reviews

Great value. This is silken and well-flavoured and just simply a joy to drink. Put it this way, when the price was unveiled it was a (very pleasant) surprise. I would have guessed $30+ easily. It tastes of blueberries, plums and woodsy spices and it feels both polished and intricately well structured. No hesitation. (Best Blocks Shiraz 2021)

Strong varietal aromas of blackcurrant and dark chocolate on the nose. Other notes of graphite and dark plum add further complexity. The palate has a soft mouthfeel, threaded with a firm core of tannin and plenty of oak. It’s an immediately appealing wine with generous flavours. Beautifully smooth and effortlessly long. (Best Blocks Cabernet Sauvignon 2021)

A firm and solid Margaret River shiraz. Earthy plummy notes on the nose. The palate is full and concentrated with dark fruit flavours and a lift of spice. Thick dark chocolate coating on the palate adds a textural feel. Good for a few years in the cellar. (Best Blocks Shiraz 2022)

Generous and highly flavoursome chardonnay from this warmer vintage. Rich lift of butterscotch and white peach dominated stone fruit. A little butterscotch and quince paste. Has a crunchy grapefruit and lemon zest combination working neatly with the crisp acidity. Ray Jordan Wine (Best Blocks Chardonnay 2022)
