Double Gold at the 2026 National Wine Show
The National Wine Show of Australia is recognised as Australia's most prestigious wine competition and has been a highlight of the Australian wine industry calendar since its inception in 1975. Entry is by qualification only, with wines required to first win a Gold or Silver Medal at one of 32 approved wine shows around the country. This means the National Wine Show brings together only the very best wines from each vintage and region.
To ensure complete fairness, all wines are judged blind and poured out of sight of the judges. Trophy winners are then selected through an individual ballot of the judging panel using the Borda points system. With entries limited to Australia's top performing wines and assessed by some of the most respected wine judges, a medal at the National Wine Show is among the highest accolades an Australian winery can achieve.
In the Rose class, our Cape Domaine was the only wine awarded Gold, sitting just one point behind Jacob's Creek's Le Petit Rosé which took Top Gold.
In the Cabernet Sauvignon class, only four wines achieved Gold or higher, and our 2023 Butler Crest Cabernet Sauvignon was one of them. Even more exciting, our Butler Crest Cabernet Sauvignon scored 95 points, just one point behind Xanadu's 96 point Cabernet Sauvignon, which went on to win the Prime Minister's Champion Wine of Show.
