100% Chardonnay
Region: Margaret River
10 months in French Oak Barriques, 30% new oak, 70% with 1 and 2 year old barrels
Tasting Notes: Medium yellow in colour, with aromas of peach, honeysuckle, and lime that carry through to the palate. Oak barrel aging imparts notes of vanilla with a hint of char, adding a toasty complexity. The result is a Chardonnay that offers a full-bodied and rich expression of the varietal. Ben Rector
Terroir: Grown on the Butler Crest Estate in the heart of Wilyabrup. The Gin Gin Clone grown in this block is well recognised as being an outstanding Margaret River producer of excellent. The block is on the top of a north facing slope, protected by native forest on the southern and western sides, and close to the cooling breezes coming off the nearby Indian Ocean just a few kms away.
