Harvest 2025: Long Nights, Hard Work, and Great Wine Ahead
Harvest season is in full swing here. While the nights are long, there’s no greater satisfaction than seeing the fruit of a year’s hard work take shape.
It’s an incredible effort, and we’re still at it—harvest won’t wrap up until the end of April.
All of Greenpiper Wines vineyards are managed by the Riverace Viticulture leadership team with over 115 years of grape-growing experience in the Margaret River region. Riverace Viticulture, founded by one of Greenpiper Wines' founders, Andy, who today manages 30 vineyard estates in the region, bringing decades of expertise to every vintage.
A Race Against Time
To put it into perspective, our Riverace Viticulture team is set to harvest 1,500 hectares—that’s 11,800 tonnes of grapes across 110 sites in the South West region—all within just 10 weeks. That adds up to:
- 8.75 million litres of wine
- 11 million bottles
- 55 million glasses of wine
The Magic Behind Our Cape Domain Rosé
We harvest all fruit at night—except for the grapes that go into our Margaret River Cape Domain Rosé, which we hand-pick. By keeping the grapes whole, we preserve their juiciness, prevent bleeding, and create a paler, more sophisticated rosé. It’s a slow process, but it makes a world of difference.

Our Sauvignon Blanc Harvest Underway
Out in the vineyards, we’re running the fruit through an in-field destemmer and leaf remover, ensuring we capture only the best of the vintage.
